Male: Jet, Methan, Epich, Bonnibel, Bolide Novakid are normally named after elements, celestial bodies, or really anything they just found. A novakids core is an interesting item to have, on one side you hold a source of light that will take lifetimes even by elven standards before it exiguishes, on the other, you hold the corpse of a deceased creature that lived and thought as you do. Novakids that mate experience a weakened core for several days after the ritual, their cores only giving off about half as much light. Novakids reproduce in a strange ritualistic dance where two novakids encircle each other giving off a brilliant light as both novakids put each other's cores under extreme pressure, within the center of the two novakids a new novakid is formed over the course of a day. Often living alone or small clusters that they call nebulas, novakids may venture out of their often comfortable lifestyles to seek out a mate or sate their innate curiosity. Novakid are a generally carefree and capricious people with notoriously short memories and attention spans, they live in the moment, wandering in search of adventure or whatever, with little reflection on the past. Though they are generally more intelligent and intuitive than the so-called "dim" races, their attention spans are lacking. There are many theories, some say that they were created as the children of a sun god, others born from the wisps of excess stardust and furthermore that they came from the heart of the Elemental Plane of Fire but were cast out by the Efreeti. Novakids have little to no desire to record their history and their race being a rarity among any population, leads one to only speculate about their origins. #Novakid starbound skin#While a novakid's form moves like a flame in the wind, they are tangible, their cores surrounded by a plasma which in turn is surrounded by a flexible glass-like substance that acts as their skin making them warm to the touch but not hot enough to ignite or burn. While novakid are brilliant humanoid specimens they don't have any facial features and instead have a brand on their face, in the shape of a symbol. Novakids are beings of pure energy that glow with the light and color of a star, though a novakids light does not change color their brightness throughout their long lives does slowly dimming till they reach their end. In particular, an Avian diplomat reportedly described a Novakid he met as “dense”, and elaborated upon his statement by mentioning that the Novakid in question had cheerily asked him if his god, Kluex, was real.A Novakid or "small suns" in Primordial, are a race of humanoids that appear to be made from a liquefied starmatter that oscillates and illuminates into a sapient form of light and heat. Since the Novakids have a short memory (and attention span), diplomatic relations can be strained at times because of their completely different composition to other lifeforms, Novakids are sometimes unable to grasp the nuances of interracial social interactions, and have thus attained a slightly dubious reputation amongst other races. Charged with huge amounts of energy, these pieces of metal generate the hard gas “shells” which stop their constituent gases from leaking – if a Novakid is depleted of his or her vital gases, the energy contained within their brand is instantly vented into the very fabric of spacetime, leaving only a twisted metal symbol and a nearly undetectable warping of light around the area of death. The force that drives the Novakids is contained within the brand on their faces. They're currently not in the beta, but will add them in the future. Though they are (generally) more intelligent and intuitive than the “fleshy” races, their attention spans are lacking – this does not make them any less effective in combat, but has the effect of restricting their technology research (and any groundbreaking research is forgotten within a few generations). These creatures, described by a human astronomer as “interstellar plasma-bag people”, have no known single origin point: that information is long lost, as the Novakids have little to no desire to record their history, or even pass it on to their offspring. Forged aeons ago in the fusion furnaces of a now-dead star, the Novakids are a perfect example of nature’s emergent beauty. ![]()
